Item is great, shipping was HORRIBLEJul 28, 2010 We're very pleased with the squat cage, but the shipper was a nightmare. They said they would call about 2 hours before the cage was to be delivered so someone could be there (it comes in three fairly large boxes). I waited all morning and never got a call. Then I looked outside -- we were having a severe thunderstorm with lots wind and rain -- and saw the three boxes sitting in the driveway, soaking wet. Ceva Logistics was the shipper. I'd be very happy if the company didn't use them anymore.
Great rack for the moneyJul 11, 2010 I purchased this rack looking to get rid of the gym membership and work out at home in order to save time and money. Well I regret literally none of it. The thing was insanely easy to put together and seems to be very sturdy. There is some movement when I do pull ups on the bar but if you throw 135 on the safeties at a low setting the thing is as sturdy as can be. If you're looking for an inexpensive rack to use at home this is the one for you. The only two things that I don't like are:
The knurling on the chin up bar KILLS my hands and I have crazy callouses already so be prepared for pain or wear some gloves.
As mentioned in a previous review, the pain scrapes off every time you slide the safeties in and out so it was pretty useless to have on since it just means it's more of a mess to clean up.
Satisfied customerMay 30, 2010 I received the power rack two days ago. Put it together yesterday in about an hour and a half with a socket and crescent wrench. All the parts were there. One thing I suggest is to separate the four types of bolts first and be aware of where the washers go. The blown up pic is accurate but is a little difficult to decipher. No instructions but still manageable.
I used it today on my first workout. It is really a godsend when it comes to doing squats. Before with just a bench, I had to wrestle the weight over my head and onto my shoulders, which took a lot of the energy away from doing the actual squats. With the rack, just load up the barbell and put the safety bar in place. All in all, it made my workout much faster and more efficient. No more fear about getting stuck under a barbell when you are failing on the last rep on the bench press. I put some gray pipe insulation on the safety bars to save the paint and avoid any clanging. If you are serious about training at home, this is a great investment. J. Love , Midland,Tx.
Best rack for the priceApr 14, 2010 I don't think you'll find a better new rack for the price. I've been using it for about 7 months now, and my only complaint is that it's a little on the light side, and I could tip the thing doing pull-ups if I'm not careful. I "fixed" that problem by just loading up a bar and setting it on the back pins to balance the weight distribution. That's really the only negative thing I could say about it. It's strong, the hole spacing is great (found very comfortable squat and bench press settings for me), the pull up bar is perfect, the safety catches have convenient external pins, (great for pre-loading a deadlift or BB row so you don't have to do it all on the floor) and the price is more than fair. Buy a pair of add-on dip handles from [...], and get a permanent marker to mark the hole spacings with numbers, and I think you've got the best entry-to-intermediate power rack on the market.
powerrack satisfactionFeb 03, 2010 Needed a powerack...sorry, WANTED a powerack did some searching everywhere and I mean everywhere...Amazon.com and I never shopped here before, they delivered a great price for my perfect product. Nothing negative about it and it is exactly what I wanted, easy to assemble with two people. But I could see a challenge building it yourself!
