Wesley United Methodist Church, 544 Government St., Baton Rouge, will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Selma to Montgomery, Alabama, march at 10 a.m. Sunday, March 9.

All are welcome to be part of this historic observance.

Ash Wednesday and Lenten observances at St. Joseph Cathedral; Fish fry

St. Joseph Cathedral, 401 Main St., Baton Rouge, will observe Ash Wednesday on March 5 with the Distribution of Ashes at the noon Mass, celebrated by Bishop Michael G. Duca and the Rev. J. Cary Bani.

The Lenten schedule is as follows:

  • Sunday Mass: 4 p.m. Saturdays; 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Sundays
  • Daily Mass: 12:05 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; confessions from 11:15 a.m. to 11:55 a.m.
  • Way of the Cross: 11:30 a.m. Fridays, followed by Mass.

The Knights of Columbus will sell fried catfish lunches on Fridays, March 7 and 21, and April 4. Tickets are available before and after Mass or at the Parish Office, with pickup from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Coffee Call 2025: Walking with the Holy Spirit

WWW will host Coffee Call 2025: Walking with the Holy Spirit at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 8, at The Oasis Christian Church, 4524 E. Brookstown Drive, Baton Rouge.

The guest speaker will be Kynan Bridges, of Grace & Peace Global Fellowship, Tampa, Florida.
