Registration is underway for a new associate degree program teaching in-demand skills at River Parishes Community College.
The college is expanding its workforce training programs with the launch of a new instrumentation concentration within its electrical and instrumentation associate degree program, beginning in the fall.
Designed to meet the increasing demand for skilled technicians in industrial and energy sectors, the program will provide students with NCCER Instrumentation Levels 1-4 certifications and comprehensive hands-on training, according to a news release.
"Instrumentation technicians are in high demand across industries such as manufacturing, power generation, and oil & gas," said RPCC Dean of Energy Sciences Donovan Thompson. "This program equips students with the technical expertise and credentials needed for immediate employment and career advancement."
Students will gain expertise in process control systems, calibration techniques, industrial electronics and smart instrumentation, according to the release.
Enrollment for the instrumentation concentration is open for Fall 2025. Interested students can apply through RPCC admissions or visit for information.
