A woman and man are dead after an apparent murder-suicide in Greensburg, according to St. Helena Parish Sheriff Clay Chutz.
Just before 11:30 a.m. Friday, sheriff's deputies arrived at 21127 La. 43 to conduct a welfare check on Billie Hayman Miller. Both Billie Hayman Miller and Richard Miller Jr. were found dead at the scene, Chutz said.
Investigators believe Richard Miller Jr. shot Billie Hayman Miller before turning the gun on himself, Chutz said.
Additional information was not immediately available.
"This was a very tragic incident," Chutz said. "My thoughts and prayers go out to the family."
