A man has turned himself in to Baton Rouge police in connection with an alleged hazing incident last week that , according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office.Ìý

Caleb McCrayÌýwas being booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish jail Thursday night on one count each ofÌýmanslaughter and hazing.Ìý

A source said earlier Thursday that charges were being considered against at least three fraternity members after Wilson's death.

During the incident Feb. 27, Wilson and eight other Omega Psi Phi pledges lined up in order of height for a fraternity ritual, in which each pledge is punched in the chest four times, a source close to the investigation said. Wilson, a Kenner native, collapsed after he was punched and experienced a medical episode, but fraternity members did not call 911 and waited to bring him to a hospital, sources have previously said.

The alleged hazing took place at a warehouse off of Greenwell Springs Road — not a local park, as police said some fraternity members initially told them.

In Louisiana, hazing can be a felony under the Max Gruver Act, passed in 2018 and named after an LSU Phi Delta Theta fraternity member who died inÌýÌý

Baton Rouge police have scheduled a news conference at 10:30 a.m. Friday at their headquarters to address the investigation into the alleged hazing incident.
