National Weather Service forecasters are warning that dense fog could reduce visibility for morning commuters on roadways across much of southeast Louisiana early Tuesday.

A will be in effect from 3 a.m. to 10 a.m. for areas near Lake Pontchartrain, Lake Maurepas and along the Gulf Coast, including the entire New Orleans metro area, Baton Rouge and Houma.

Light winds, cooling temperatures, clear skies and ample moisture from recent rains are expected to contribute to fog development overnight, according to the NWS of New Orleans.

Drivers hitting the road Tuesday morning should use their low beam or fog lights, forecasters said. High beam lights and brights reflect off fog and can further reduce visibility.
